About

The concept for Planet Blender started out of a need to create maps for a visual fantasy novel I have been working on for years. I needed to be able to add elements on the map that I could customize to suit my fantasy universe. As development of the project continued, I realized that others could also benefit from this system. I proceeded to modify the system to make it ready for production and user environments. If there is enough interest, I will continue development based on user feedback.

What Planet Blender is

  • A complete system for procedural planet generation.

  • It can be used for generating unique worlds for games; visual novels; still renders; animation and much more.

  • Fully procedural while also offering fine control over all 400+ parameters.

  • Offers a unique PBR baking system that helps get your generated planet out of Blender and into your software of choice.

  • It’s a customized blender file, that works on vanilla Blender 3.6.4 and above.

What Planet Blender is not

  • Is not an add-on.

  • It is not a scientific physically accurate system for running accurate simulations.

  • It is not a standalone product. It’s built to work with Blender.
